Tanya Burtnik - Tanya is from Huntsville, Ontario. This last year, she
attended a one-year program at Summit College in Ontario which combined Bible courses and outdoor pursuits.
She's in the process of deciding whether to continue her education or take a year out for some practical
experience. After a mission trip to Guatemala during the summer of 2002, she realized how fun it was to
serve outside her community. For her, Toronto offers an entirely different mission field again - one that
she's very excited about and where she hopes to be a part of God's work in the city, serving in a new way,
while meeting face to face the diversity that exists here. She's hoping this summer will provide her with
direction for her path this next year. Tanya loves adventure and discovery, especially when it comes to
experiencing new people and cultures, places and food, so being with CSM feels like a rare privilege
given by God.
|
Rob Conant - Rob is from Scottsdale, Arizona and is a junior at Northern
Arizona University in Flagstaff. He's an electrical engineering major
and can repair almost anything (computers, cars, etc). His missions experience
includes two trips to CSM Los Angeles, as well as many trips to Mexico.
He likes mountain biking, running, reading, listening to sermons (John
Piper), Bible study, music, outdoors and lots more! He's looking forward
to seeing God at work, knowing Him more and learning from the young people he'll be meeting.
|
Justin Salhani - Justin is from London,
Ontario. He spent a year at Summit Bible College located in Muskoka, Ontario.
He wants this summer to stretch his faith and be full of adventure! He likes
badminton, writing letters and reading Christian Literature and found out
this last spring he really enjoys white water kayaking and rafting.
|
Keri Sanders - Keri is a Hoosier girl, born and raised in Indiana. She
just graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor of science in Biology
and a Chemistry Minor and will be attending medical school in the fall.
She's been on several mission trips, mostly focusing on children and has
learned that it doesn't matter what someone's background and family are
like, everyone needs to understand God's love. She loves to travel and just enjoy life.
|
Emily Shepard - Emily is from Toronto,
but attends school in New Brunswick
at Mount Allison University. She's a sophomore studying International
Relations with a double minor in French and English. Her travels include
a mission trip to the Dominican Republic and backpacking around Europe
last summer. She loves to write, and hopes to be an overseas journalist
after she finishes her education. Emily enjoys Ultimate Frisbee, running,
singing, playing the guitar, climbing trees and rocks, chocolate, asking
questions, silence and conversation. This summer she is looking forward
to seeing a different side to her home town, particularly as a missions field.
|
Rachel - Rachel was born in Toronto and
studies in Waterloo. She has previously been on a number of short term
missions trips, but doing urban mission in her own city will be a new
and different experience. She has always enjoyed working with youth,
especially with drama and dance ministries. In her free time, Rachel likes
to read and listen to music. This summer she's looking forward to creating
memories that will last for years to come.
