Positioning Teens as Theologians
Theology Together is an experience-driven paradigm for youth ministry that positions teens as theologians. The power of students as theologians leads to innovative, relevant, and growth-minded ministries because youth have the space to dive into robust theological dialogues.
We help you enter into this paradigm through a robust set of tools—curriculum, training, events, and resources. Each of these tools, including the structure and framework of our CSM journals, are built upon a thoughtful and intentional practical theology tool, the WOW Theological Method.
Our approach empowers young people to engage deeply with their faith, culture, and calling through structured theological reflection that transforms both individuals and communities.
The WOW Theological Method
Theology Together created and uses the WOW Theological Method. This 5-step process provides the framework for deep theological reflection and centers around participant's disruption—disruption that normally happens when we are upended out of comfort zones and experience life beyond what is common.
WOW!
Allow young people to share their "wow" story. This is the moment of disruption, the experience that caught their attention and made them pause.
WHY?
Lead young people to explain why that moment wow'd them. Help them dig deeper into what made this experience significant and meaningful to them personally.
WHAT?
Help teens consider what culture would say about that moment. Explore the cultural context, societal perspectives, and broader implications of their experience.
GOD?
Consider God's perspective. Guide students to explore what Scripture says, how God might view this situation, and what theological truths emerge from this reflection.
NOW WHAT?
Move to action. Help young people determine how this theological reflection should shape their lives, decisions, and ministry moving forward.
